To support language development in young children, teachers must understand the child as well as the developmental process. This knowledge helps teachers enhance children's language skills as well as identify when there is a problem with a child's language development. This course provides an overview of language development for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children. Teachers will learn about typical, delayed and disordered language development as well as what to do when concerns about a child's language development arise. This is a 3-hour course worth 0.3 CEU's.
