Family Child Care Indoor Environment
In Family Child Care Indoor Environment, caregivers are provided with the knowledge and strategies to design a safe, functional home environment that supports developmentally appropriate practice and responsive caregiving. Participants will learn design principles that encourage children’s exploration and learning and that can reduce negative behaviors. They will learn design strategies for multiage group settings and how to select toys and materials that represent the cultures, interests and learning goals of the children in their care. In addition, participants will be guided in evaluating and improving their own home care setting. This is a five hour course worth .5 CEUs.

This course can be utilized to meet the training requirements to earn or renew your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Course content is aligned with the CDA Subject Area 1: Planning a safe and healthy learning environment.
